Cast strip material 70-150 mm thick is preliminarily reduced to a thickness of 7-20 mm in 5-7 reversing roll passes. The first three to five reversing roll passes a Steckel roll stand (10) take place with free run-out, while the subsequent passes take place with use of Steckel furnaces (8,12) in front and after this roll stand. After the last pass the strip is coiled in a storage furnace (14) preceding the finish rolling section. The material brought up to the rolling temp. is then delivered to the finish rolling section. Also claimed is a plant for above process.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von warmgewalztem Stahlband aus bandförmig gegossenem Vormaterial in aufeinanderfolgenden Arbeitsschritten. Um ein Verfahren bereit zu stellen von hoher Produktivität und großer Wirtschaftlichkeit wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß das erstarrte Vormaterial vorgewalzt wird in einer bestimmten Abfolge von Revisier-Walzstichen, daß es zum Zwischenspeichern in Ofenatmosphäre aufgewickelt wird und anschließend zum Auswalzen auf Fertigbanddicke der Fertigstraße zugeführt wird. Weiterhin wird eine Anlage zur Herstellung von warmgewalztem Stahlband vorgeschlagen, wobei zwischen dem Revisier-Steckelwalzwerk (10) und der mehrgerüstigen Fertigstraße (16) ein temperaturgesteuerter Zwischenspeicherofen (14) vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
