[origin: EP0735442A1] A time keeping unit consisting of an oscillator and quartz resonator drives hour and minute hands (1,2) through frequency dividing and actuating circuits. A daily signal is also delivered to binary counters which record days, months and years. A control button (9) is used to call for the type of additional information required and a multiplexer transmits a signal representing the required hand position. The previous hand position is stored and the difference is used to activate a motor driving the hand in the correct sense and by the correct amount to indicate the information required on the annular scales (4).
