[origin: EP0735615A2] An item of electrical equipment (3) has an earthing connection provided by a metal contact (28) projecting from the base that engages the exposed end of an earthing wire (43) and a housing panel (7). The contact has an angled section for insertion through a slot (45) in the plate. The tip section is forked such that the wire end is securely held in contact. A moulded clip (12) on the underside of the housing is shaped to deflect and then engages in a slot formed in the base to provide secure retention.
