Abstract (en)
A fixed spray nozzle (3) sprays sealant into the edge of the lid (1) which is held in a rotatable lid holder (5). For non-circular lid edges the lid holder is displaceable and has a toothed disc (6) corresponding to the non-circular outline. The neutral line of the toothed disc coincides with the centre line of the lid edge to be sized. A gearwheel (7) meshes with the toothed disc and the number of teeth of the disc is a whole-number multiple of the number of teeth of the wheel. The wheel rotates synchronously with the main drive shaft. Two control cams (9, 12) are connected rotationally fixed to the main drive shaft wherein one adapts the position of the disc relative to the gearwheel so that their teeth always engage whilst the second moves the axis of the wheel so that the opening of the spray nozzle is always above the centre line of the lid edge (2).

Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Gummieren des Randes (2) eines unrunden Deckels (1) einer Dose, z. B. einer Konservendose, wird das Dichtungsmittel in den Rand (2) des in einer Deckelaufnahme (5) gehaltenen Deckels (1) von einer feststehenden Spritzdüse (3) gespritzt, ist die Deckelaufnahme (5) drehbar sowie verschiebbar gelagert und weist eine der Kontur des Deckels (1) entsprechende Zahnscheibe (6) auf, deren neutrale Linie mit der Mittellinie des zu gummierenden Deckelrandes (2) übereinstimmt, und kämmt mit der Zahnscheibe (6) ein Zahnrad (7), wobei die Anzahl der Zähne der Zahnscheibe (6) ein ganzzahliges Vielfaches der Zähnezahl des Zahnrades (7) ist, des synchron zu einer Hauptantriebswelle (11) umläuft. Weiter sind mit der Hauptantriebswelle (11) zwei Steuerkurven (9, 12) drehfest verbunden, wobei die erste Steuer- oder Deckelkurve (9) die Lage der Vierkantzahnscheibe (6) in bezug auf das Zahnrad (7) so anpaßt, daß deren Zähne stets im Eingriff sind, und die zweite Steuer- oder Radkurve (12) die Achse des Zahnrades (7) so verschiebt, daß die Mündung der Spritzdüse (3) sich stets über der Mittellinie des Deckelrandes (2) befindet. <IMAGE>
