[origin: EP0736370A2] The device comprises a housing containing a spiral pressing member (13). The housing (10), and/or a separator element mounted in it, has openings (16) for draining off the fluid. The housing and spiral pressing member may be cylindrical or conical. The separator element or housing may have a screen base (16). The pitch of the pressing member can decreases towards the discharge opening (12). The size of the discharge opening can be variable. An inlet opening has a filler hopper containing a transport roller with entrainment rods.
