Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0736620A1] The feed mechanism for drawn sliver, between a drawing unit and calender rollers, has a number of jet units (50) in the sliver travel path, without an interlinking gathering or guide tube. The jet axis is divided into two sections (200a,200b), at an adjustable angle ( alpha A) to each other. The swing axis (V) between the two axis sections is across the direction of sliver travel. Also claimed is a feed operation where one axis section (200a) swings against the other section (200b) automatically for a sliver feed when the feed jet (50) delivers less sliver material than it receives from the outlet rollers (70b,70a) of the drawing unit, in a swing movement on an axis (V) across the line of sliver travel. As the jet (50) swings, a ramp section (50b) is moved in front of the drawing rollers exit to take the emerging sliver to give it a deflected path (FV') to the side from the normal sliver movement path.
