[origin: DE19513358C1] An electrical in line multicontact connector of a type suitable for use with vehicle airbag systems has a main housing (10) with a sleeve end section (10u) that has parallel bores into which are set contact sleeves that are crimped (12) onto connecting leads (18) in the top section. At the lower end the sleeves are formed into spring contact pairs that locate on pins (52) fixed into the base. The main housing has an interlock sleeve (22) that can axially latch in either of two positions (24). In the lower position the sleeve pushes claw elements (42) into a groove (55) to secure the contact engagement.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen elektrischen Steckverbinder, insbesondere zur Verwendung zwischen einem Generator und einem elektrischen Steuergerät, für aufblasbare Rückhaltesysteme in Kraftfahrzeugen mit einer auf dem Gehäuse des Steckverbinders verschiebbaren Hülle als Verriegelungsmittel gegenüber der Dose. <IMAGE>
