[origin: EP0737641A2] The folder for paper of plastics film material, especially a blade folder in the print and prodn. process, has a base (11), a movement path (12) and at least one guide (26-35). A working section (13) of the movement path is diverted from a straight line at an angle to a peak (17) to deflect a side section of the material (5) in relation to the remainder of the web material (4), through a binding zone. The working stretch has an entry (14) and exit (15) end, which lie on the straight path (10) of a flat working length. A mechanism (21) to deflect a second section (6) of the web material against the first section takes in the working section for the first section of the web within a working length which is max. two to 1.5 times longer than the working length of the stretch for the web section. At least one end (23, 24) of the stretch (22) is offset from the matching end (13, 14) of the first working length.
