[origin: EP0737755A1] Thermal treatment of components on a treatment line (LT) incorporating at least one furnace (2) and one hardening cell (4) comprises: (a) arranging the components (22) in individual charges (C), in some boxes or baskets (20), to form distinct lots with a volume (V) of components having a height (H) chosen to be clearly less than the other dimensions (L1,L2) of the volume; (b) introducing the individual charges (C) into the furnace (2) and heating them to the treatment temperature; (c) transporting the charges (C) from the inside of the furnace (2) to the inside of the hardening cell (4) by means of a transporter (T); and (d) guiding the displacement of the charges (C) on the transporter (T) along the treatment line (LT) in a manner that the charges (C) are displaced along this line, locally, at different speeds (V1,V2,V3). The installation used implement this method is also claimed, and incorporates at least one furnace (2), one hardening cell (4) and a transporter (T) forming a treatment line (LT).
