[origin: EP0737805A2] The load signal device provides a load signal representing the actual air mass supplied to the engine for each stroke using signals representing the momentary air flow through the air intake pipe, which are summated over a given angular range of the engine crankshaft. The load signal is used directly for calculating the quantity of fuel to be injected in a given engine rev range and throttle position range, with correction of the last value provided for the latter range in dependence on the revs for a second rev range, to provide a replacement load signal.
