[origin: WO9614709A1] A video receiver apparatus mainly including a phase comparator (PC) receiving video signals directly from a remote transmitter (via an antenna or cable) as well as video signals received by another video receiver. The phase comparator (PC) compares the phases of the vertical synchronisation signals of both video signals. When the video signals are out of phase, the comparator (PC) operates an automatic channel search circuit. The apparatus further comprises a control circuit (CC) for displaying the video signals received by the video receiver apparatus on the second video receiver for a predetermined time. Said apparatus is useful for programming the channels of a VCR and automatically selecting in the VCR the channel being watched on the television set to enable immediate and simplified recording.
