[origin: EP0738546A1] The rolling mill comprises two spaced uprights (1) with two or more working rollers (2,2') with parallel axes. A gap between the rollers allows the product (A) to be rolled. The roller axles rotate in chocks (4,4') set in ports in the uprights. Hydraulic cylinders (61), acting through the chocks on either side of a locking plane (P2), apply pressure to the rollers. At least one of the hydraulic cylinders is equipped with a rod support which fits into a recess (41) in the chock, and goes as far as its thrust section (45). On each side of the recess there are smooth surfaces which are able to slide along adjacent guide surfaces of the upright's port. Each side of the chock also has a U-shaped sliding surface with a central section and two side projections enclosing the recess.
