[origin: WO9418801A1] The apparatus (10) is a color wide dynamic range apparatus which includes a filter (12) interposed immediately in front of reoccurring color elements so that each pixel represents a given color element for the scene. At least two exposure levels are taken of the scene and the pixel outputs are decoded to generate the video luminance and chrominance signals. The images of the at least two exposure levels are combined to form a final image.
