[origin: EP0739699A2] The member is formed by steel bars and is of triangular cross-section. It is first delivered to the inlet (5a) of a straight feed track (5) and then thrust forward into a mechanism in which it is cut to the desired length. From this it passes to the track outlet section (5b) before insertion in a mould for wall- or roof-slabs. The grabs positively secure the member during each transporting movement, typically by clamping. The cutter mechanism can be preceded by a welding mechanism joining residual member portions together. The grabs transferring the members from a storage unit (1) to the track inlet can be mounted on a travelling hoist mechanism, which in turn is on a slide travelling parallel to the track, while a guide (17) on the latter forms a continuous support for the member.
