[origin: EP0739718A2] Each inter-cylinder gap cover (3) protecting the operator from injury, is connected by a supply tube (9) and a recirculation tube (10) to a reservoir (12) of water or oil (13) maintained at uniform temperature by a stirrer and pump (15). The temperature can be controlled by means of a heat exchanger (14). A resistive heating element is integrated into the cover and wired to a source of electric current for reducing the temperature difference between the cover and the surrounding air.
