Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0740058A2] The method operates on the throttle flap (4) in the inlet manifold (3) upstream from the fuel injector (2). Adjustment is made by e.g. a stepping motor (5) subject to a regulator (7) with inputs from a pick-up (10) on the accelerator pedal (9) and from sensors of engine speed (n) and load (Mmot), road surface condition ( eta ) and transmission ratio (G). A change of engine output power ( DELTA ml) is worked out predictively for each cycle, during which the flap is repositioned on the basis of this optimum calculation and the position of the accelerator.
