Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0740318A2] The transformer has a 2-part core (1), with the core halves (2,3) angled relative to one another for forming a wedge-shaped air gap between their facing ends (2a,3a). The end of one core half has an angled or rounded edge (11) on the outside of the air gap, so that it contacts the second core half at a point which is spaced from the outer edge of its end face. Pref. the angled edge extends at 130 degrees to the remainder of the end face.
