Date Jul. 20, 1995A device for mounting, removing and transporting an easily bendable device, such as a printing plate, to and from a plate cylinder includes a printing plate preparation device which supports the plate, and a cross arm with a plate gripper and pressing assembly. A gripper portion of the plate gripper and pressing assembly acts on the plate and is movable toward and away from a suspension strip of a cylinder. The plate gripper and pressing assembly can be moved to a parked position where it is out of the way and is shielded from contaminants.
