[origin: WO9520090A1] In prior art door closers the closing piston, the damping piston and the closing drive components acting therewith are made of metal. Their inherent weight is therefore disadvantageously great and they are complex and costly to produce. To eliminate these drawbacks, at least the damping piston (14) of the novel door closer is made of plastic.
