Abstract (en)
A preformed strain-hardened hollow body is expanded without process annealing. During the expansion process, a counter pressure (Pa) is applied to the outside of all body areas to be expanded. The pressure is applied directly, or via a membrane, by a liquid, so that the pressures acting on both sides prevent tearing of the wall. The can is manufactured from tinplate with a thickness of 0.05 to 0.5 mm. The pressure (Pi) on the inside of the body is higher than the counter pressure, and the counter pressure is at least 500 bar. To expand the can body by 20%, the pressure is approx. 1000 bar. The internal pressure is applied by a liquid-filled rubber bag, which is fed into the can and pressurized.

Bei diesem Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Blechhohlkörpers mit komplizierter Form (3), insbesondere einer profilierten Dose, wird zunächst durch Kaltverformen, wie Tiefziehen, Biegen oder dgl. ein vorgeformter Hohlkörper (1) mit mindestens einem offenen Ende hergestellt und anschließend durch hydromechanisches Expandieren in einer Hohlform (40), deren Innenkontur im wesentlichen der endgültigen Außenkontur des Blechhohlkörpers entspricht, expandiert, indem das Innere (38) des Hohlkörpers hydraulischem Druck ausgesetzt wird. Der Hohlkörper wird während des Expandierens auch an seiner Außenseite (36) hydraulischem Druck ausgesetzt, wobei der Druck im Innern des Hohlkörpers größer ist als der Druck an seiner Außenseite und dieser äußere Druck mindestens 500 bar beträgt. <IMAGE>
