Abstract (en)
In a photographic AgBrI emulsion contg. a dispersion medium and AgBrI grains, the AgI content of the grains: (a) averages 0.5-9.0 mole%; (b) is at an almost constant max. of 3-25 mole% in a zone extending over at least 10% of the distance between the centre and surface; (c) follows a gradient between this zone and a point near the surface; and (d) is max. 2 mole % at the surface. Also claimed are: (i) a method of producing the emulsion as above; and (ii) a photographic material with Ag halide (AgX) emulsion layer(s), including at least one emulsion as above, and opt. ancillary layer(s) on at least one side of a base.
