[origin: EP0741400A2] The device (11) has switch cursors (19) which can be displaced radially between off and on positions. The programming plate (18) has a text carrier rigidly attached to its visible surface (38). The text carrier (21) has a transparent or translucent window region (35) through which a marked region (37) of the switch cursor arm (26), which lies between the text carrier and programming plate, can be seen in one of the two radial positions. The cursor arm region can be displaced radially outwards from a position beneath the window region to a position in which the programming plate surface can be seen through the window region instead of the arm region.
