Abstract (en)

[origin: DE4439386C1] The invention concerns a connecting element (20, 10) of a two-part pin-and-socket connection whose housing (30) comprises at least two axial housing chambers (37) arranged in pairs and adjacent to one another with an axial dividing wall (38) between the housing chambers. The housing chambers serve to accommodate electrical contact elements (21) which extend in their defined end position as far as a coupling section of the housing; the coupling section can engage with a complementary coupling section of the matching connecting element which is part of the pin-and-socket connection. To create a compact connecting element in which a sliding element with stop elements locks the contact elements in their end position in the housing chambers, it is proposed that the sliding element should be formed from a detachable section (40) of the axial dividing wall (38) and the stop elements which effect locking should be formed from radial projections (46, 47) on this section of the dividing wall. The housing has an axial recess (50) between its two housing chambers which is open towards the coupling section and is intended for axial plug-in assembly of the dividing wall section (40).
