[origin: EP0742365A2] The fuel injection device has a fuel feed line, a mechanical pump element and a fuel injection jet (7), with an electronically-controlled valve (15) between the pump element and the fuel injection jet and a second pump element between the valve and the latter, supplied via a second fuel line. The pump elements may lie directly after one another, the mechanical pump element having a piston with a control edge (11) for the fuel quantity regulation.
