Abstract (en)
Rotation of a pinion (200) is regulated by a return/rotation regulating claw (231) when a starter (500) is actuated. After the pinion (200) engages the ring gear (100), the return/rotation regulating claw (231) positioned rearward the pinion (200) regulates the return of the pinion (200) from the ring gear (100). A thrust bearing (215) including a rolling bearing positioned on the rear face of the pinion (200) absorbs the difference between the rotational speed of the pinion (200) and that of the return/rotation regulating claw (231). Such a construction allows only the pinion (200) to move axially and a magnet switch (600) to be compact and light. <IMAGE>
