Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0742384A2] The drive unit operating system continuously monitors the acceleration of the vehicle and the power output of the engine, with the drive transmission switched to a different gear ratio in dependence on the detected acceleration. The switching rev range is divided into lower and upper switching rev ranges, with the lower target rev range selected for a high acceleration with a low drive revs.
