Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0742411A2] Air flows into the burner (18) in the axial direction via a plenum chamber (27) preceding or enclosing it. Fuel is mixed with the air during its passage through the burner. The dia. and pitch of the ports (25) in the perforated wall (24) and the wall thickness are in set proportions to each other, the air being divided into small jets which reunite after a set distance (1). The ratio of wall thickness of port dia. is 1:1 or greater, as is that between the free-cross-sectional area of the wall and the possible cross-sectional area of the inlet to the chamber, dependent on the type of burner used.
