Abstract (en)
The ink jet print head has an piezoelectric actuator with two electrical connections. The actuator is located between a nozzle plate and a body and include the pressure chamber. The elements are located in rows and columns on the print head. One terminal of each element in a given row is connected in common with the others in that row. Similarly terminals in the same column are connected in common. Pulses are applied selectively to the row and column connections. The pulses are such that any one pulse is insufficient to activate a piezoelectric element. When pulses from both row and column are applied to an element the element is activated.
