Abstract (en)
[origin: DE4403271C1] The refractory lining in the upper wall zone of a steel casting or treatment ladle is repaired by pouring a refractory castable into the annular space between a shuttering piece and the remaining wear lining. The gap between the lower end of the shuttering piece (5) and the wear lining (3), extending below the region (4) to be repaired, is sealed by inflation of a hose-like seal (7) which is subsequently deflated before withdrawal of the shuttering piece (5).
