Abstract (en)

[origin: DE4443349A1] An electric plug-type connector has two detachable connecting parts that may be axially coupled and uncoupled by means of a laterally extensible slide. One connecting part includes the socket housing and control means. The other connecting part includes a matching plug housing with laterally projecting coupling pins. The slide in turn has a profiled coupling channel. In order to obtain a space-saving connector, two different control means are provided between the slide and the socket housing. The first control means is an axial control with a substantially linear axial groove in the socket housing and a radial bearing cam on the slide that determines at the same time the bearing point for a swivelling motion of the slide. The second control means is a flip control with a sliding block on the one hand and a slide guide on the other hand that is curved to match the combined swivelling-translatory motion of the slide. The coupling channel is designed as an arc segment, determines the lever-like swivelling motion of the slide and is arranged at the same side of the lever arm of the slide as the flip control in relation to the bearing point for the swivelling motion. Although the axial height of the arch formed by the coupling channel determines only part of the coupling and uncoupling stroke, the remaining axial stroke is determined by a translatory motion of the plug housing with the slide.
