[origin: DE19518532C1] The vacuum cleaner housing has a dust space (3) provided with a dust separation filter, with a seal (7) around the peripheral edge (12) of the dust space, cooperating with a sealing rail (8) of the dust space cover (5), when this is in the closed position. The seal is formed to cooperate with the peripheral edge of a dust container (4), inserted in the dust space as an alternative to the standard dust filter bag, at a point between the edge of the dust space and the sealing rail.
