[origin: EP0743178A2] The guide device for damp printed sheets has a guide surface associated with at least one drying device. A contactless transport system which feeds the sheets or strip along the guide surface interacts with a cooling system. The contactless transport system can be a suction device integral with the guide device. Alternatively, the transport system can be a blower arranged outside the guide device and functionally associated with the guide surface. Coolant channels are arranged on a surface opposite the guide surface. The guide surface can have air inlet and outlet openings (2) applied by laser welding.
