Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0743255A1] The pack making process involves fitting an outer shell (1) round an inner body (2) in the region of a grip-assisting layer (3). The inner body is made of a fold-forming or crumpling material. The outer shell, grip layer and inner body are then moulded together into an edging flange (7). Before this moulding takes place, a ring (14) is taken off the outer shell. This ring, which may be milled off, extends between an aperture edge (12) of the outer shell and at least one edge (11) of the grip layer or the inner body. The edging flange may subsequently be rolled.
