[origin: EP0744220A2] The slit nozzle comprises two sliding elements (10,20) each having a slide face and designed to move relative to each other in a predetermined direction (X). The slide faces contact one another over their surface area. The first slide face has a recess and the second a projection engaging therein. The sliding elements form between same a cavity defined by the base and side faces of the recess, an end face of the projection and the second slide face. The surfaces of the sliding elements defining the cavity sealingly adjoin one another. The cavity communicates with the nozzle inlet (30) on the outside face of one of the sliding elements. The cavity has a slit opening forming the mouth opening (32) of the nozzle with the applicator width adjustable by moving the sliding elements.
