The device has a cutter cylinder (8) with blades (13), acting with a counter cylinder (4) with stationary cutter rails (16). A first cutter cylinder carrier (3) rotates at a first set RPM. The cylinder is located on the carrier, and rotates at a second RPM. The cylinder is phase-adjustable relative to the carrier. The speeds of cylinder and carrier are adapted to each other, so that during the cutting process, the blade executes a cutting movement, which is approx. radial to a pivot axis (7) of the counter cylinder.

Bei einer Schneideinrichtung zum Querschneiden von laufenden Bahnen in Produkte mit veränderbaren Längen besteht die Aufgabe darin, Verschleiß einer Schneidleiste und auf ein Schneidmesser wirkende Biegekräfte zu minimieren und eine einfache Verstellung zu ermöglichen. Erfindungsgemäß wird dies durch Schneidzylinder erreicht, die auf einem rotierenden Schneidzylinderträger rotierend gelagert und phasenverstellbar sind.
