[origin: EP0744373A2] The operating device includes a drive (7,17) and a carrier (35,39). There is also a counter-carrier (65,73). The drive is connected by a coupling (29) to one door and to the carrier so that the carrier covers the clearance to grip the counter-carrier before the first door begins to open. The coupling device may be pivoted to the drive and one door. There may be two turning axes, one between the drive and the coupling, and the other between the coupling and the door. They move along a line orthogonal to the motion of the doors while the clearance is being overcome.
