The inlet (13) and outlet (14) valves, when viewed in cross-section of the engine, and extending from a centre longitudinal plane (A-A) of the engine, include a valve angle of between 29 and 31 degrees. The rotational axes of the roller type lift levers (15,16) lie outside the angle lines (22,23) of one cylinder region which form the valve angles. In the V-shaped cylinder head region formed by the inlet and outlet valves a spark plug (26) is provided which extends along the centre longitudinal plane.

Dieser Zylinderkopf für eine mehrere Zylinder umfassende Brennkraftmaschine der Hubkolben-Bauart weist zwei oberhalb der Zylinder (3) angeordnete Nockenwellen (17) auf. Die Nockenwellen (17) betätigen über einarmige Schlepphebel (15, 16) zwei Einlaßventile (13, 13') und zwei Außlasventile (14, 14') pro Zylinder. Dabei sind die Ventile im spitzen Winkel (α) zu einer Mittellängsebene der Brennkraftmaschine angeordnet. Der definierte Winkel (α), der die Ventile einschließt und die Lage der Drehachsen der Kipphebel sowie der Zündkerze (26) schaffen eine vorteilhafte, leicht zu realisierende Zylinderkopfkonzeption. <IMAGE>
