Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0744588A1] The barrel is mounted in a breech sleeve (2) for axial movement relative to a support cradle (3). The sleeve is fixable directly to the cradle by a removable fastening including a coaxial centring structure consisting of a rim (9) on the breech block and a groove (12) around the cradle opening. The centring structure prevents relative movement of the two components in directions orthogonal to the barrel axis. A locking key (15) secured by two pins (24) secures the breech and cradle together by engagement in channels (19,20) formed in corresponding portions of their abutting faces.
