[origin: WO9522719A1] The flame strip (14) of a fuel fired burner is made up of ceramic plate elements (14A-14Y) stacked together. The elements (14A-14Y) are recessed on the sides so that stacking them together results in the formation of burner ports in the form of deep slots (16A-16F). The plate elements (14A-14Y) are preferably identical and are constant, or dog bone cross section.
