Abstract (en)
In a method of obtaining an easy-to-handle Raney nickel type of active cathode of high activity, a nickel aluminum alloy-containing film is formed on an electrically conductive substrate. After this, the substrate is treated with alkali to allow aluminum to dissolve therein, and then dipped in an oxidizing agent solution comprising a solution containing at least one member selected from peroxides, percarbonates, and perborates, so that an active cathode stable in the air can be obtained. The active cathode is protected against degradation due to atmospheric air during production or storage.
