[origin: EP0746122A1] The mixer has a pre-amplifier (M) with an adjustable pre-amplification for each tone channel and a summation amplifier (S) at the output of the pre- amplifier, for separate adjustment of the summation amplification. A control device (P) coupled to the pre-amplifier and the summation amplifier allows the overall amplification (vk) for each tone channel to be divided between the pre-amplifier and the summation amplifier in a ratio which is dependent on the overall amplification, for optimising the noise ratio.
