Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9620874A1] A box (1), a blank and a method for making a box out of a sheet material, are disclosed. The box (1) comprises a lid consisting of inner and outer flaps, and two push-through corner portions (13) provided on either side of the box or lid across the fold lines (9) defining two walls (3) and two opposite flaps. The box further comprises an elongate handle including a lower band (17) made of sheet material and at least partially consisting of a detachable portion belonging to at least one outer flap (10), and an upper reinforcing band (22) secured to said lower band and attached at each of its ends (23) to said opposite side walls (3) beneath the corner portions (13) with respect to the top surface of the lid. The handle surrounds or faces said portions so that, when the handle is pulled in a direction substantially perpendicular to the top surface of the lid, the handle elements that are facing said portions are driven therethrough.
