A method of measuring the amount of ink discharged from an ink-jet type printhead (54) in a single discharging operation comprises a density measuring step of measuring the density of an ink dot formed by an ink discharged from the printhead (54) on a glass plate (60) and a determining step of determining an amount of ink on the basis of the density of the ink dot measured at the density measuring step. <IMAGE>
