Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0747537A1] The drilling unit consists of a rotary head (9) with at least one spiral vane (15) which has a projection (13) at one or more points along its length. The projection extends across virtually the whole width of the spiral vane, and can be formed with the aid of one or more cams (14). The spiral on the head of the drilling unit cover at least one complete revolution and can be made in two sections, with the projection on the lower one. The upper section of the vane is shorter than the lower one and has a slightly reduced pitch. The drilling unit head is hollow and allows concrete to be poured through it after sinking into the ground to form the foundation pile.
