Abstract (en)

[origin: DE4406412C1] The invention concerns a sinker assembly in which the sinker (1) is designed to hold modules each with a body (21; 31; 38) having two parallel faces and carrying a number of tufting, knitting or Raschel tools. The invention calls for a plane covering surface (3) in the sinker (1) and a plane stop surface (5) running perpendicular to it to define a space extending along the entire length of the sinker (1). Bolted to the sinker (1) is a clamping strip (8) whose inside surface (9) is parallel to the stop surface (5). Located in the clamping strip (8) are openings through which bolts can be passed. Running along the entire length of the stop surface (5) is a guide groove (6). Each module body (21; 31; 38) is clamped to an adapter (13) at least on the side facing the stop surface (5). The width of the assembly comprising the module body (21; 31; 38), the adapter (13) and an optional thrust pad (15) is matched to the distance between the stop surface (5) and the inside surface (9) of the clamping strip (8). Each bolt (11) has a dog point (26) which engages in and is guided by the guide groove (6). The head of each bolt (11) is countersunk in a bore in the module body (21; 31; 38) or thrust pad (15). The sinker proposed facilitates the equipping or retrofitting of such assemblies and simplifies the replacement of defective tools.
