The system consists of a network linking printing facilities and customers. The network contains at least one data processor into which can be written information about the free capacity of the printing facilities. Information about the printed products to be generated is written into the data processor from the customer side and the information is processed to determine in which print facility the product will be printed. Information about a future printing product is written into the data processing system in the form of a requirement profile. The information in the data processing system about the free capacity of the printing facilities is continually updated.

Beschrieben wird ein Informationsübertragungs- und Auftragsabwicklungssystem, welches Kunden von Druckereien sowie die Druckereien miteinander vernetzt. Es soll gewährleistet sein, daß ein von einem Kunden zu vergebender Druckauftrag hinsichtlich einer Optimierung von Herstellungs-, Transportkosten sowie aber auch der geforderten Qualität in der für die entsprechenden Anforderung bestmöglich geeigneten Druckerei erstellt wird. Erfindungsgemäß gelingt dies dadurch, daß an das Netzwerk wenigstens eine Datenverarbeitungsanlage angeschlossen ist, in welche einerseits die Kunden von Druckereien wenigstens ein Anforderungsprofil für den zu erstellenden Druckauftrag eingeben können und andererseits die Druckereien ständig aktualisiert Informationen über freie Kapazitäten abgeben. Über insbesondere eine SQL-Datenbankabfrage erfolgt dann eine Vergabe des Druckauftrages entsprechend den eingegebenen Kriterien. Durch die Reduktion des Transportaufwandes ergibt sich ferner auch eine geringe Umweltbelastung.
