[origin: EP0749912A2] The packaging or bag (10) has two foil walls, in order to form a tube. The latter is closed at one end so as to leave a space (11) for an item which is to be packaged. After insertion of the item, the space can be given an airtight seal, and can be evacuated. A perforated foil (18) is fixed in the space, and this divides its cross section into two sections (11,34), with the item accommodated in one (11) of them. The cross sections of the perforation holes (19) may widen towards their upper surfaces (17), and may also be in the shape of trumpets with intervening lump-like surfaces.
