[origin: WO9517414A1] The invention relates to methods and compositions for inhibition of viral replication. In particular, complete and irreversible termination of replication of hepatitis B virus is achieved by introducing into a target cell an oligonucleotide complementary to HBV plus strand and 5' and 3' flanking nucleotides.
