[origin: WO9526468A1] Described is a fuel-injection system designed for pre-injection and main injection of fuel through injection nozzles into the combustion chambers of an internal-combustion engine. The system is fitted with a pre-injection piston (10) which, following actuation of a solenoid valve and downwards movement of the main plunger (17) after pre-injection, establishes a connection with a nozzle-spring tensioning piston (23) which, as the main plunger (17) moves further downwards, also tensions the nozzle spring (18) for the main injection. The invention is intended for use in diesel fuel injection systems.
