[origin: WO9526619A1] Described is a crucible induction furnace with at least two coils (3, 4) connected in parallel to a resonant frequency converter (5). The coils run round the wall of the crucible (2) and are disposed next to each other along the axis of the crucible, a capacitative resistor (6, 7) being connected in series with each coil (3, 4). This design ensures improved distribution, suited to the particular process conditions, of the power provided by the frequency converter (5) to the coils (3, 4).
